What to Pack for a City Break in Athens

A Packing List for AThens, City break, Greece, Female Packing List | lucylucraft.com | travel, beauty, lifestyle blog

I recently went to my first ever TBEX travel blogging conference in Athens, which was incredible. Don’t take my word for it, wait for the influx of gushing posts I will be writing about in due course.

But first things first, what did I pack for 5 days in Athens, hand luggage only? It’s no secret that I have a love/hate relationship with packing — often bringing ridiculous items (5 paperbacks) and forgetting essential ones (errm knickers?) so I meet every packing escapade with trepidation. Sidenote – I used my Avios to fly with British Airways who give insanely generous hand luggae allowance…..

It turns out that I actually did pack pretty well, a few doozies did creep in but overall, I was pretty happy. So let me share my Europe City break packing list with you….

Europe packing List, Clothes, The Basics

Europe packing List, Clothes, The Basics

2 x leggings (I pretty much always wear leggings on the plane)

2 x Jeans (1 light pair with knee rips, and 1 classic indigo Jamies)

3 x Shirts (1 checked, 1 smarter cream with shoulder details & 1 x denim)

1 x zebra print skort

1 x polka dot mini skirt

1 x flippy skater skirt

1 x crop key print blouse

2 x short sleeved black v neck tops

2 x black jumpers (1 x v neck, 1 x big cosy jumper)

1 x floral kimono and 1 sparkly number (that I didn’t wear in the end but it was so teeny weeny and light it was no bother).

Black ankle boots, brogues and a pair of flip flops.

This is where sh@t gets a bit out of control…..I’m sorry.

The Beauty Edit! Toiletries I packed for my city break. Beauty, Hair, Toiletries.

The Beauty Edit! Toiletries I packed for my city break….

Lush Solid Shampoo. I cannot live without this stuff when I’m travelling……

I decanted some of my yummy smelling, insanely good OGX Coconut Condtioner

I’ve been trialling KMS Taming Frizz Creme and I really like it….not enough to re-purchase mind you, but it’s a cute little 30ml size which is perfect for hand luggage so it came with me.

I cannot live without my Rodial Glamtox Cleansing Balm (here is a similar one) , but it’s 100ml! Luckily my fairy godmother J-Sco stepped in and I have this pocket sized version….bliss.

I went a bit bonkers on the amount of moisturisers brought with me. I’m not entirely sure why, as I didn’t need my little Clinique Repairwear Moisturiser but I did use the following: Simple Spotless Skin Anti Blemish Moisturiser and Origins Plantscriptions Serum (which was a sample size).

Tea Tree Oil….this is such an old classic. (This one, from Amazon, is super cheap — but is a pure essential oil). It’s amazing and zaps spots immediately.

The boring stuff…..deodorant, toothbrush & toothpaste, floss and razors (which I bought when I got to Greece).

The Makeup, cometics, beautyI packed on my city break.

The Makeup I packed on my city break.

It looks like a lot, but this is a seriously edited version of my usual bounty.

Rimmel Scandaleyes shadow stick. I use the shade Bootleg Brown which is so versatile, I love it.

Topshop Electric Blue Liquid Eyeliner. I actually bought this in the sale, so I don’t think you can still buy it…..but I would recommend any of the other shades. The nib is amazing and great for liquid eyeliner newbs and it stays put all night.

Guerlain Cils D’Enfer Maxi Lash. This mascara is the best….and it’s a perfect dinky little size too. Bonus.

Clinique Anti Blemish Foundation is my go to when I’m having a bad skin day/week/month….I’ve had a bout of breakouts so this is my comfort blanket at the moment!

Clinique Airbrush Concealer. This isn’t my favourite by any means, but it’s almost empty and I wouldn’t care if I lost it…so it made the cut by default!

Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. I’ve tried the foundation too, and honestly I was really disappointed with the coverage….I think you need better skin than mine to pull it off! I love the powder though, it is a great setting powder and smells amazing.

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer. Ok, this never leaves my side. It doesn’t matter how pale or tanned my skin is – it just works magic on my complexion. It really is ‘3 seconds to a 3 week tan’.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Cello Shots. I don’t even think you can buy these anymore…..answers on a postcard please? They are basically cheek stains, a la Benetint, but I find them so much easier to blend, and I don’t get that patchy effect that most stains give me.

The Body Shop Shimmer Waves. I love this, it’s such a great duper for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick….although it’s kinda pricy for a ‘high street’ brand (I think it’s about £12). I actually prefer it to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick as it doesn’t smash and break up into irritatingly small pieces.. Yep that’s happened to me a few times now.

A teeny weeny little Benefit High Beam, which is always great for highlighting when your skin is dreamy and bronzed. A beautiful velvety, long lasting Lancome Absolu Velours liquid lipstick, a nail varnish and some quickie nail polish remover wipes.

My Canon EOS 1200d : This is a great starter DSLR camera, it’s easy to use and pretty light weight. I have the standard kit lens, and a 50mm macro lens for closeup shots too.

iPad & iPhone: Because naturally I can’t live without at least two Apple products by my side…..

Chargers! I use my phone a LOT when I’m out and about…so I rely on having chargers, portable chargers and backup chargers with me at all times. My addiction to Snapchat doesn’t help, as it drains my battery.

A few handy little tools that are too dull to talk about.

Business Cards (I use Moo), Notepad and pen, passport and our insanely useful Caxton Card

Loving the list! I’m planning on working the ski season in France and I wanna go hand luggage (eep). Would love to wear leggings all the time – but have NO idea how to wear them. I’m a terrible girl.

Sarah I am so sorry I missed your comment! Bad form. I wear my leggings with any long-ish jumper/top and shirt combo. I personally think leggings can go wrong if you wear them with trainers or with a short top you know? But I am no fashionista! L x

I’m thinking they will be a snowboots job for them. I am in France now and have managed the hand luggage to every other girl here’s dismay.
