What She Said Podcast Episode 5: Talking Storytelling and Social Media with Brenna Holeman

Welcome to the FIFTH episode of the What She Said Podcast, where I chat to interesting women in blogging and the online world.

In this episode, I chat to one of my favourite writers, Brenna, who runs the travel blog This Battered Suitcase. She is an AMAZING travel writer and tells a story better than anyone I know. She also replies to EVERY SINGLE COMMENT she receives. I chatted to her all about authenticity, storytelling, community-building and why content is king. If you love writing but you feel like nobody’s reading, or are worried you aren’t growing your numbers fast enough – this one’s for you.

If you enjoyed our chat, please leave me a review on iTunes. It helps other people to find the podcast and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside 😉

Thanks Lucy, I really enjoyed this podcast with Brenna. It gives me hope that we are going in the right direction with producing our content.

It did make me laugh, the chat that you had about social media followers/unfollowers. When this started happening to us, I didn’t realise what was going on, it seemed bizarre. You wake up to see you have gained followers only to find your numbers have dropped.
We are sticking to our morals & persisting in what we believe is right.

I’m so happy you enjoyed the episode Janis! And yes…the follow/unfollow thing is super annoying. You’re right to just stay true to yourself and ignore the shady tactics! L x
