As you may have guessed, we really enjoyed Hampi! The day after cycling was a designated 'rest day' like in the Tour de France, we rested our legs, and Lucy got a pedicure. Then we watched Wolf of Wall Street at Durga Huts (Duh-duh-duh. Duh-duh-duh. Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh). We then went exploring on the other side of the river. Bicycles were an option here too, but we went for a motorbike instead. Much less hard work, and quicker! We saw Anegundi, which was dull, and opted not to climb the 570 steps up to the Monkey Temple, but instead opted to hit the swimming spot we'd heard about. We headed to Sanibur reservoir, and did some scrambling over rocks until we got to this place;
It was an awesome way to cool down after riding a couple of hours.
With our swimming excitement at it's peak, the next day we decided to go to Hampi's "waterfalls" for some more swimming. About 3km west of Hampi Bazaar they are awesomely remote, and access is really only possible with a guide if you want to get to the really good spots, which we did!
Overall, Hampi was the best place we've been so far. Neither of us really wanted to leave, but we had to, so off we trotted to Goa via the Sleeper Class train. Anyone of any height, be warned...there is not enough space!!!!
